Yes Mirza but that work you talk about must be in the public domain with a commitment to public communication and accountability if you like. I was not just talking about building confidence, rather pointing out that confidence can only be restored by a thorough and independent process.

Maybe this proposed inquiry could question what consideration was given by the Council leadership to the Annual Audit letter for 2011-12 which raised similar concerns about relative under resourcing of children’s social care in Birmingham and why it took a further 12 months to take good on this point? http://birminghamagainstthecuts.wordpress.com/2013/12/24/the-lost-year-safeguarding-birminghams-children/

The point about a Wragg style review is that it would take evidence from everybody, staff, council officers and politicians, families, residents and so on. It is only be being so comprehensive that we can properly region to restore public confidence.

So the staff would have an important role to play to make but it would also be crucial that others who have concerns also have contributions to make.
