And Cameron's response? It upsets him too, and it's all the fault of working class children having low aspirations. Most of us have been a bit shocked that only Cameron's school chums from his own class - not just social class but classroom-class - are the only ones able to fill the high offices of state, but assumed it was down to his personal preferences and friendships/kinships, and a return to the politics of the 1820s. Not so. If the rest of us, lower middle class, state educated, plate glass universities, had only had higher aspirations he, poor lad, would have had more to choose from. But what is it that he values in colleagues? Is it something that the rest of us could possibly have had, unless we had been to Eton, Oxbridge and the finishing schools of the pastimes of the rich? Maybe he needs to look again at his criteria for valued colleagues. Maybe he could tell us what they are.
