The Police protect the Police, Parliamentarians protect Parliamentarians, Hospital managements protect Hospital managements, councillors protect councillors (of the same Party!), and so on and, very, very definitely, so on.
I am sorry that Simon Weston stood down, but applaud his perceptive honesty in doing so – would that all PCC candidates had even a modicum of his honesty.
