Questions need to be asked about Cllr.Ballss and Ed Balls line on HS2. The former is based on a view that our economic future has to one based on the global rather than the local.The latter is about questioning the Conservative line and the level of expenditure .The threat of the Core Cities Group ganging up against the Labour leadership reflects the groups self importance and its denial of the interdependence of the rural and urban ,Both views need to be challenged about what sort of economy to which we aspire and how we can move to more equitable ,inclusive and coherent decision making in which all parts of the UK. participate.
