Sorry, Mr Game - in accusing Cllr Hutchings of deceit, you are practising exactly that. You are utterly failing to compare like with like. The known grant income at the start of each year has to be compared, not the outturn of one year with the starting point of the next. There are ALWAYS additional grants received during the year (indeed the Council has already received some this year) that are not known about at the start of the year, so Cllr Hutchings comparison is valid, and yours is not.

Furthermore, even if we take the 1.044bn outturn against the 1.042bn projection, as you wish to, that also completely fails to demonstrate the "falling off a cliff" scenario that Albert Bore wants it to. It's a fall of £1.8m, or 0.17%, an insignificant change. The real question should be why the "jaws of doom" show a completely different situation? Part of the answer appears to be double-counting in the top and bottom jaws. Deceit, surely, if true, and whose deceit would that be, I wonder?

Helpful explanation, Chris. Unfortunately Albert is starting to be viewed as a Cassandra - she was always right in her prophecies about Troy, but never believed and they weren't acted on. Let's hope this article will help people to listen, reflect, and respond appropriately.
