I suppose that if I could live on a backbench councillor's allowance alone, I wouldn't need another job. As per the Independent Remuneration Panel's calculations, I am supposed to do 2 1/2 days a week of council business for my allowance. Something Cllr Maryam Khan appeared not to understand. Cllr Bore is paid to do 2 1/2 days as a councillor, plus 5 days as leader of the council, PLUS 3 days as Chairman of the hospital. Can't remember the last time I saw a 10 1/2 day week. Even the revolutionary French only managed a 10 day week. But I suppose that, being Albert, he can actually manage to be in 2 places at once, as he is apparently required to be by his employers.

To be fair Paul, perhaps no details of spending decisions have been published yet because we aren't actually allowed to spend any money.
Yes, budgets have been 'given' to services, but we have been told not to spend any of that budget, unless absolutely necessary (e.g. mileage claims in order to deliver service).

Useful review Paul. I had pressed the button to ask Sir Albert about the absence of decisions - not one listed by 1pm yesterday. You could also mention the rather brief answers from cabinet members Cllr McKay and Cllr Stacey to questions from the Lib Dem group asking them to set out their activities since taking up office.
